Flight is modeled after the first fossilized feather to be unearthed. Discovered in Germany around 1860, it is attributed to Archaeopteryx, which until recently, was thought to be the first bird.

The challenge in Flight was to craft a very thin piece that would convey the delicacy of a feather without it breaking.
